A Life Changing Experience: Jayneil Louise Enriquez
by: Jessell De Luna
One of Theresian Communicator’s Organization’s talented members, Jayneil Louise Enriquez, got the chance to perform on stage in Manila and in the U.S last year. In an interview, she shared how her experiences changed her life and made her a better person.
On June 2013, Jayneil had the opportunity to star in the musical play, Siddhartha: A Journey to Enlightenment. She played several parts in the play including minor roles.
Siddhartha is a Buddhist musical about the story of a man who became a prince. It talks about how he found more meaning in his life and how, in his journey, he was enlightened and became the Buddha.
According to Jayneil, her experience (six months of training and performing) is not just the highlight of her 2013, but also the highlight of her entire life. She never expected that her passion in singing and performing would take her to different places. She was able to experience a Buddhist lifestyle during those 6 months. She practiced some of their teachings like the 8 noble paths (right thought, right understanding, right speech, right action, right effort, right livelihood, right mindfulness and right concentration).
"Performing Arts is a wide field but it doesn't mean you cannot try everything, you can, if you don’t limit yourself.” Jayneil said. With that, Jayneil left a tip for those who want to explore the world of performing arts: Expose yourself. Go to auditions, sing karaoke, and dance in school presentations. Trying is the only way of finding out what you're really passionate about. Once you find it, dedicate your time to nurture it. Always practice and never stop learning.

MML-steps
The Steps of the Mother Marie-Louise Building or the “MML steps” is where you can see graduating students plan their thesis. It is also a good place for meetings and practices since there are not many distractions. The shade it provides plus the natural ventilation and great view makes it a great hang-out place.

College Communication Center
The Greenhouse or the Communication Center (CC), live up to its name because this is the place where students do small talks and gossips. You can access free Wi-Fi and do some studying, researching and project making in the CC. “It is my mini sanctuary” said Bea Isobel Quiachon.

Carport
The Carport may seem to look like a waiting shed for students but actually it is also a great hang out place. The school Wi-Fi reaches the area, and the place is spacious and quiet, that some students even like to read books here. It is also a good place for practices, meetings and bonding.
No Guts, No Glory

Mr. Joshua Solano an upcoming 3rd year student in Mass Communication won the election for the position of Vice president last College Student Council (CSC) elections. Joshua ran independently, providing the students during the miting de avance his platform and plans for the next school year.
I know I have the capabilities to become a leader and I want to make a change in the college department. In an all-girls school a boy could lead as well.
Why run as a Vice President? Why not the other positions?
I just want to be and I know from my experiences of being a Filipino gypsy I could lead the students path to a better college experience. I will be the chisel to their minds and hopefully I could carve them into better students.
What are the changes that we will encounter this coming school year 2014-2015?
First I meant to change the equality between male and female. But the thing I want to focus the most is transparency in all academic and non-academic organizations. In my project I will require them to submit their treasurer's report every month.
How did you react when you knew that you had won the elections?
I am very happy and very excited for my term next school year.
"I will be their tinker boy I can’t live if they won’t believe in me and CSC won’t live if the students don’t believe in us."
The Softball Player
The Softball Player
by: Patricia Catan
This past two Intramurals has been two great years for the Theresian Communicators’ Organization (T.C.O.) in the field of sports. The TCO Softball Team defended their title and was crowned champions in this year’s Pakiglambigit 2013.
One T.C.O. member however, continues the Intramurals spirit by joining a softball team outside of school. Let’s get to know more about this athletic T.C.O member and see if you guys know who she is.
Any guesses? This T.C.O. member has been playing the sport since her 3rd year in high school still here in St. Theresa’s College. Now, she’s already on her second year as a Mass Communication student and she still expresses her love for softball by being active in the field. Here’s more of our T.C.O. member with her love and interest for the sport.
Why did you choose to play softball?
It is a fun sport to play. I involved myself in this sport to add spice to my high school years.
What is the name of your team?
Our team is not yet official but as of now, we call our team the Cebu team because we have different players coming from different colleges here in Cebu. It is composed of students from Saint Theresa's College, Cebu Institute of Technology, University of San Carlos, Cebu Aeronautical Technical School, Asian College of Technology, and Datamex Institute of Computer Technology.
Do you have any upcoming games?
Our team joined the Private Schools Athletic Association (P.R.I.S.A.A.). Our game against Bohol was postponed due to the earthquake and the typhoon. Our recent update said that the game would probably push through this February.
What position are you playing?
Since our team is not yet official, we also don’ have our specific and final positions yet. We are still trying all the positions, trying to figure out our best asset until our Coach decides our final positions.
How is the experience so far?
My experience has been fun. Softball changed my life for the better. I get to meet new people and at the same time, I get to play the sport that I have learned to love.
If you guessed Marie Elizabeth Carloman, then you got it right! From making her high school a little more exciting to representing the Queen City of the South, Carloman definitely is an inspiration to all of us. Let one Theresian Communicator inspire the rest of T.C.O. to create a ripple effect and continue what one has begun.
