Advocacy Talk encouraged students to pursue their passion

by: Patricia Catan

The Theresian Communicator’s Organization (TCO) held an inspirational talk on advocacies last January 8, 2014, at the St. Theresa’s College Audio Visual Room.

TCO invited Matthew Basabe, Anna Maris Igpit, and Chip Lopez as their guest speakers for the inspirational talk entitled, “What Drives You: Your Passion, Your Future.”

Matthew Basabe, one of the Top Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines awardee helped the TCO members find the winner within them. A winner doesn’t have to have good looks and the height alone but a winner should have a heart to serve the country.

Anna Maris Igpit, former Bb. Pilipinas World 2006 has that heart. She possesses not only beauty and brains but is also a helper of the community.

Chip Lopez, owner of The Lazy Chef Lunch Club, who when in her younger years was a sickly child has transformed into a healthy woman. She proved that your passion will never get you wrong. “Do what motivates you, do what makes you happy and never give up that future you’ve always wanted”, Chip said.

The talk was aimed to inspire and encourage students to pursue their passion, not to doubt their future after college.
