One of Theresian Communicator’s Organization’s talented members, Jayneil Louise Enriquez, got the
chance to perform on stage in Manila and in the U.S last year. In an interview, she shared how her
experiences changed her life and made her a better person.
On June 2013, Jayneil had the
opportunity to star in the musical play, Siddhartha: A Journey to
Enlightenment. She played several
parts in the play including minor roles.
Siddhartha is a Buddhist musical about the
story of a man who became a prince.
It talks about how he found more meaning in his life and how, in his
journey, he was enlightened and became the Buddha.
According to Jayneil, her experience (six
months of training and performing) is not just the highlight of her 2013, but
also the highlight of her entire life.
She never expected that her passion in singing and performing would take
her to different places. She was able to experience a Buddhist lifestyle during
those 6 months. She practiced some
of their teachings like the 8 noble paths (right thought, right understanding,
right speech, right action, right effort, right livelihood, right mindfulness
and right concentration).
"Performing Arts is a wide field but it doesn't mean you cannot try
everything, you can, if you don’t limit yourself.” Jayneil said. With that, Jayneil left a tip for those
who want to explore the world of performing arts: Expose yourself.
Go to auditions, sing karaoke, and dance in school presentations. Trying is the only way of finding out
what you're really passionate about.
Once you find it, dedicate your time to nurture it. Always practice and never stop
learning.
